The California legislature has recently enacted a new 2021 COVID-19 Supplemental Paid Sick Leave law, which took effect on Monday, March 29, 2021.
This law entitles employees to take up to 80 hours of paid sick leave for a COVID-19 related absence that has been taken, or that will be taken, between January 1, 2021 to September 30, 2021. The law applies retroactively and prospectively to employers with more than 25 employees.
