Raised by Mexican-immigrant parents, Berenice learned firsthand the power of determination and resilience. Watching her family work hard instilled a tireless work ethic and a belief that with perseverance, she could overcome any challenge she encountered. Berenice’s commitment to understanding each client’s needs ensures her skills effectively serve businesses and help them thrive.

Prior to her role at MNK Law, Berenice’s professional trajectory unfolded as a paralegal at a real estate firm, specializing in landlord-tenant matters across Los Angeles County and Orange County. Her responsibilities spanned from guiding clients through intricate legal landscapes to meticulously preparing for trials. Engaging directly with landlords and tenants, Berenice discovered her passion for the legal field, recognizing the profound impact she could make by leveraging her expertise to provide indispensable support.

As a distinguished alumna of the University of California, Berkeley, Berenice holds a Bachelor of Arts degree. Her commitment to making a meaningful impact extends beyond academia, as evidenced by her active involvement in UC Berkeley’s student government. Advocating for the diverse needs of her peers, Berenice gained invaluable insights into the importance of amplifying diverse voices and ensuring comprehensive solutions for all.

Further showcasing her academic prowess, Berenice served as a research assistant under the Chair of the Sociology Department, where she meticulously tracked and analyzed U.S. Census trends in Northern California. This experience honed her analytical skills and deepened her understanding of societal dynamics.

Beyond her professional and academic accomplishments, Berenice is a dedicated community servant. During her first year at UC Berkeley, she initiated a pro-bono college consulting program, providing invaluable assistance to over 30 first-generation, low-income students in Southeast Los Angeles. This six-year endeavor underscores her unwavering commitment to uplifting and empowering her community.

At MNK Law, Berenice seamlessly melds her people-helping skills with her legal acumen, ensuring businesses receive unparalleled attention and support. Berenice runs her own pro-bono college consulting program aimed at assisting first-generation and/or low-income students through Southeast Los Angeles. Her program helps students apply to college and provides mentorship to students throughout their first year in undergrad.

Berenice volunteers with Southern California Special Olympics where she serves as a coach and uplifts athletes who participate in the program.
